For the first time in its history WorldTour Team Katusha starts in the 2.1 stage race Tour of Alberta, which will be held in Canada from September 2nd to 7th.
The Tour of Alberta consists of 6 stages, including the opening team time trial of 19,6 km and the uphill finish on stage 4.
Katusha will be led by Ilnur Zakarin and Simon Spilak who made it a 1-2 for the team in the Tour de Romandie. Zakarin recently showed good condition by finishing on the podium in the Arctic Race of Norway and fourth in the Tour de Pologne.
In the hillier stages, the duo will be supported by Sergei Chernetckii, Sven Erik Bystrøm, Viacheslave Kuznetsov and Sergey Lagutin. Alexey Tsatevich and Alexander Porsev provide options in the sprints.
