Also the fourth stage of the Giro d'Italia doesn’t seem to be a piece of cake. The distance of 150 kilometres between Chiavari and La Spezia isn’t very long but the numerous hills can cause a selection. Is it an opportunity for riders that lost time the previous days or will it be another sprint of a reduced peloton?
“When I look at the profile of the stage I think of my years in the youth categories, when such a stage would have really suited me. With the pros that’s something else. Although I’m curious to see if I can join a breakaway in one of the stages in this Giro, to get some experience. The question for this stage is if more real sprinters can survive than yesterday and if teams like Tinkoff-Saxo will control the race again. After three days in my first Grand Tour I’m still happy to be here," Stig Broeckx said.
