The Tour the Suisse organizers have announced three wildcards to line up alongside 18 World Tour outfits in the 2014 edition of the mountainous race, with IAM Cycling, MTN-Qhubeka and CCC Polsat-Polkowice being granted the invitations.
The Swiss World Tour level stage race, regarded as an alternative to Criterium du Dauphine final preparation event for the Tour the France contenders, will be held between 14 and 22 June this year and consist of nine stages two mountaintop finishes in Verbier and Saas-Fee and two individual time trials.
Last two editions of the Tour de Suisse were won by the current World Champion Rui Costa, while riders in the likes of Levi Leipheimer, Frank Schleck, Fabian Cancellara or Roman Kreuziger are on the list of most recent winners
IAM Cycling, MTN-Qhubeka and CCC Polsat-Polkowice are the three teams invited to Tour of Switzerland, announced by the organizing committee of the race, which will contest the race with 18 sets of WorldTour, to play between 14 and 22 June.
