On a rainy stage six of the Tour de Suisse, all the ORICA-GreenEDGE riders finished in the peloton, 0.07 off the winner Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo), who took the win with a sprint finish.
Colombian rider Esteban Chaves, who is still battling it out in the general classification, lying in 13 position, 3.12 minutes off the leader Thibaut Pinot (FDJ.fr), finished safely in the bunch as he looks ahead to the last three days of the race.
“Today wasn’t a particular target for us,” sport director Neil Stephens said. “Mathew Hayman and Daryl Impey said they would give the final a go, but once it was wet and there were a couple of crashes in the finish they decided against it.
“But the main thing is that everyone got through it safely, Esteban got through it safely, and we live to fight another day.”
