Tim Wellens and Jens Debusschere are ready for their first Tour de France. The Lotto Soudal youngsters enhoyed the teams presentation. "The teammates told that this is the best moment of the Tour."
The Tour riders sailed through Utrecht where many fans were waiting for them. The Belgians enjoyed it.
"Everyone fights for a place in the Tour squad and it is a very great honor to be here," Tim Wellens told Sporza. "There's really a lot of people here and it is a very nice experience.
"The teammates told me on the boat that the show is even more impressive each year. You can see right here how great the Tour is."
And his ambitions? "I want to try to win a stage and I have already looked at the stage to Huy. The GC is not a goal this year. Maybe in a few years, but now I'm aiming for a stage."
Jens Debusschere also debuts in the Tour. "It has been very amusing in Utrecht until now. They just said that this is the best moment of the Tour until you arrive in Paris. I have to enjoy it, because there are tough times waiting for me in the coming weeks.
"I'm a bit nervous. The first stage will already be quite hectic and it is important for us," says Debusschere who will take Jurgen Roelandts' place in the sprint train in front of Greg Henderson and André Greipel.
