The Vuelta a la Comunidad de Madrid returns to the professional calendar in 2015. It is set to take place on May 9 and 10 and has been given a 2.1 category. This is confirmed by the official website of the UCI and the organizers plan to organize three stages.
"This is not a farewell to this race, it is a "see you again"," the regional federation said in March when they announced the cancellation of the race due to a lack of money. Usually a three-day race, it was reduced to two day sin 2012 and was a one-day 1.1 race in 2013.
Comunidad de Madrid has confirmed their financial support to the race which is now trying to make a deal with the city of Madrid. Biciciclismo reports that the organizers are more likely to host three stages if they manage to reach an agreement.
Javier Moreno won the race in 2013 while Sergey Firsanov, Rui Costa and Sergio Pardilla won in 2012, 2011 and 2010, respectively. The Madrid Cycling Federation confirmed the return of the race at its annual board meeting held last Wednesday.
