While the Tour de France is not yet over, it seems that the Vuelta a Espana will attract big names this season. Indeed, Christopher Froome (Team Sky), Alejandro Valverde and Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), Fabian Cancellara (Trek Factory Team), Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha Team) should be present.
According to team manager Eusebio Unzue, Movistar duo Quintana and Valverde will both head to the Vuelta a Espana. "When they are together the team improves a lot, separate weakens us. And, although sometimes they can fight for common goals, everyone is ready to support whoever is better; and they are available to work for each other at all times. That is our strength and of the success of this team", he told Biciciclismo.
Astana will have a strong team on the Spain race with Vincenzo Nibali, Mikel Landa and Fabio Aru. Joaquim Rodriguez, who won two Tour stages this year, will be also present. Fabian Cancellara wants to improve their physical condition in Vuelta in order to be at the top for the World Championship road race.
Italian Domenico Pozzovivo will lead Ag2r La Mondiale and Jurgen van den Broeck will ride his last three-week race with Lotto-Soudal.
