After several parts of the route have already been leaked to the press, more parts of the 2015 Vuelta a Espana have now been announced. Today the organizers have presented the first four stages of the race.
Today they organizers of the Vuelta a Espana have announced the first four stages of the 2015 of the Spanish grand tour. As it had already been revealed, the race will start with a time trial in Puerto Banus near Marbella while the second stage will link Alhaurín de la Torre and El Caminito del Rey which is a major tourism attraction in the area.
The first four stages are as follows: The steps announced are:
Stage 1: Puerto Banús - Marbella
Stage 2: Alhaurín de la Torre - Caminito del Rey
Stage 3: Mijas - Málaga
Stage 4: start in Estepona
The 70th edition of the Vuelta a Espana will begin on Saturday August 22, 2015. The Council of Malaga and Unipublic will present the entire route of the race on January 10 in Torremolinos, Malaga.
It is already known that the Vuelta will start with a time trial but it is not yet known whether it will be an inividual one or one for teams. There will be 9 or 10 summit finishes of which some have already been revealed, including the one in La Fuente del Chivo in Cantabria. The queen stages will be held in Andorra and Asturias while the organizers are also planning a final big mountain stage in the Madrid mountains before the finish in the capital.
