According to Cyclingnews, Elia Viviani is close to signing with Team Sky for 2015 season, which makes him the only rider with an existing contract with the current Cannondale team who will not be part of the new Garmin-Cannondale outfit. If joining the British team, the 25-year old Italian will share sprinting duties with Ben Swift.
Even though Team Sky roster for 2015 season reportedly has been closed, the British team is yet to make all major announcements after the end of the Vuelta a Espana. Besides Viviani, riders like Nicolas Roche (Tinkoff-Saxo), Wout Poels (Omega Pharma-QuickStep), Leopold Konig (NetApp-Endura) and Lars Petter Nordhaug (Belkin) have all been linked to the team, while Edvald Boasson Hagen has already announced his move to MTN-Qhubeka.
