Giovanni Visconti has not been selected for the Worlds but was part of the national team at today's Memorial Marco Pantani where he showed great condition by taking second in the team's clean sweep of the podium.
"It was a great day for us in the National team," he told CyclingPro..net. "We did a long attack. In the end it was tough, but we made it . Then we decided that the race would go to Diego who was a worthy winner. He deserved this since he is going through a hard time.
"I'm happy, I'm fin. I came well out of the Vuelta, I hope to do a great Lombardia . The next races will be used to move me closer to that race in the best way. I hope to have a small space for the personal ambitions."
