Race leader and defending champion Gustavo Cesar Veloso (W52) again looked invincible when he finished third in the uphill sprint on stage 5 of the Volta a Portugal. The Spaniard even gained time on most of his rivals as only teammate and second placed Delio Fernandez was the only GC rider who did better than him.
"The important thing is to be as far forward as possible," he said. "I'm like a little ant as I'm winning every possible second, but I'm not quiet. I have strong opponents."
