Gustavo Cesar Veloso (W52) strengthened his position as race leader and overwhelming favourite in the Volta a Portugal when he finished third in the first big mountain stage of the race.
"I'm fighting for the GC and it is necessary to be as far forward as possible every day. I'm glad I did not lose time. Let's see how it will end.There is still a lot of the Volta left," he said.
