On Sunday Klaas Vantornout will make his comeback at the Superprestige race in Ruddervoorde. He announced his plans on Twitter. The Belgian champion has missed out on the latest races after he crashed in Zonhoven two weeks ago.
Until now, it has been a bad season for Vantornout. A few weeks ago, illness forced him to skip the World Cup race in Valkenburg. Two weeks ago his heavy crash in Zonhoven left him with an injured shoulder and a sprain in his hip.
The 33-year-old from West Flanders was forced to skip the Koppenbergcross. He will also have to watch the European Championships in the Netherlands on Saturday on televion after national coach Rudy De Bie decided not to select him.
But in Ruddervoorde the rider from Sunweb-Napoleon Games will be back. On Twitter he asks his fans to come out and cheer for him en masse.
