Two days ago Sep Vanmarcke (LottoNL-Jumbo) underwent surgery on his right wrist. All season he has suffered with an injury and finally took action on the issue. "With the necessary rest and recuperation of my wrist, I'm will be my old self in about a month."
Last year Vanmarcke suffered from chronic inflammation of his right wrist. During the season he chose to postpone the operation until the autumn. The operation took place two days ago.
"I had surgery on Wednesday by Dr. Koch in the Dutch city Hague," Vanmarcke announced on his Facebook page. "It was an injury that has bothered me for a whole year. With the necessary rest and recuperation of my wrist, I will be my old self in about a month and I can work towards the spring without any worries."
Vanmarcke had hoped to finally win one of the great classics in 2015 but did not succeed. Especially the Tour of Flanders was a disappointment as Vanmarcke was only 53rd. Maybe the injury had something to do with his failure?
