Sep Vanmarcke has set his sights on the Tour de France. The Belkin rider does not worry about his selection. " It's not official yet, but I 'm pretty sure I can start in Leeds." Also Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) is targeting the Tour.
"I think it's been pretty clear that I will get into the Tour,” says Vanmarcke. The 26-year-old rider has the fifth stage of Ypres to Arenberg already ticked with red pen as a serious goal.
"That stage gives me a great chance to win. With some lucky things you can also compete for the yellow jersey. I have in any case made the Tour my second goal for this season. The team management will know what they have me.”
Also Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) wants to shine in the Tour.
"I recently rode the Tour of California, which has helped me. My heel injury, which blunted the early part of my season has almost disappeared. I think it may be that I start in the Tour. My selection is not guaranteed but I am confident I will be there for BMC."
