As the biggest team from the country, Belkin headed into the Dutch TT championships with the goal of winning the jersey of national champion but they were up against a superior Tom Dumoulin. Jos Van Emden confirmed his position as one of the best Dutch time triallists by finishing third.
Jos van Emden has won a bronze medal at the time trial nationals in Zaltbommel. The time trial specialist of Belkin Pro Cycling TEAM lost more than a minute to Tom Dumoulin (Giant-Shimano) who did a very powerful ride. The difference with the number two, Sebastian Langeveld (Garmin-Sharp) was only 15 seconds. Stef Clement finished just off the podium in fourth place.
Jos van Emden said: "It was a difficult time trial. But I know that a time trial is always tricky. It is a fight against yourself. I started with a podium in mind and I have accomplished that. I'm happy with my performance today."
