Lars van der Haar hopes to make his comeback on January 1 at the GP Sven Nys in Baal, according to his new team boss Sven Nys who has made the announcement in an interview with the Belgian TV channel Proximus11 .
Van der Haar suffered a muscle rupture of up to ten centimeters in his thigh last month in Ruddervoorde.
"We must ensure that it recovers well. In a few weeks we will have an ultrasound and see how it is and whether I can run again," explained Van der Haar.
From January 1, Van der Haar will make the transition to the Telenet-Fidea Lions team of Sven Nys.
"We hope that he can start in Baal," said Nys. "But it will not be in the condition which everyone expected. That is not possible. I will not put him under any pressure but he must try to get an acceptable level this season. If he would stop now, it will be a long time until next season. He will have our trust. We know what he can do, it's just a matter of time. "
