Lars van der Haar continues his World Championships preparations with International Cyclo-Cross Rucphen followed by the Hoogerheide World Cup.
Rucphen will be van der Haar’s first race back following a short period at a specific training camp in Spain with the performance team to help him prepare for the coming World Championships in Tabor on February 1.
This will be followed up the next day by the World Cup final in Hoogerheide, The Netherlands, his final chance to score points towards the overall rankings. He currently sits in second place overall, 80 points adrift, but with two World Cup wins already he has already had a successful campaign in this series.
The next race falls on the first day in February, as all eyes in the cyclo-cross world fall upon Tabor in Czech Republic for the World Championships.
Van der Haar lines up for the second time at the Elite World Championships race, having taken a bronze medal last year, and following a good period of preparation he will have his heart and mind set on another strong ride here in 2015.
Speaking after the Dutch National Cyclo-Cross Championships, coach Dirk Reuling backed this up, saying: “Lars will now head to Cambrils [Spain] for a short camp to work specifically with the trainers as he builds for the World Cup in Hoogerheide and then the World Championships in Tabor.
“His level is good and there is still much more to come from Lars.”
