Sven Nys beat its younger compatriot Wout Van Aert. in Koksijde. Van Aert openly admitted that the best rider won the race.
Wout Van Aert was second but remains leader in the World Cup.
"I can live with this and can not really blame myself. A flat tire cost me a lot of energy but Nys had something extra in the heavy section at the end. Nys was liberated after his victory yesterday. A lot of respect for him, especially after his 50th World Cup win. These are absurd figures," he told Sporza.
"After the puncture I had to work hard to get back to Nys and then I was no longer at my best. I did not have my best day and therefore I made mistakes in the technical sections."
