Following their presence in Tirreno-Adriatico and before Saturday's Milano-Sanremo they will all be part of, a Movistar Team expedition with riders Alejandro Valverde and Andrey Amador, sports director Chente García Acosta and PR officer Sebastián Unzué started a series of three stage inspections from this year's Giro d'Italia yesterday.
The two allrounders from the telephone squad covered nearly 150km of stage 14, starting in Alpago and finishing at Corvara Alta Badia, over the 'Passi' of Pordoi, Sella, Gardena, Campolongo, Giau and Valparola, for a total exceeding 5,300m of elevation gain.
Amador, fourth-placed in last season's 'Corsa Rosa', and Valverde, the UCI World's No. 1 in 2015, will also inspect the Alpe di Siusi mountain TT (stage 15) and the ascents of Mendola and Fai della Paganella, part of stage 16 to Bressanone, on Thursday.
