Etixx - Quick-Step rider Rigoberto Uran is ready to ride the Colombian National ITT and Road Championships, which will be held on February 7th and February 8th.

The 40.6km ITT in Mall Llanogrande is a target of Uran, who put on the Maglia Rosa last year after winning a key time trial stage at the Giro d'Italia in 2014.

"I trained very well in the last period to try to start off well at my first races in Europe," Uran said. " I trained more specifically on the time trial bike because my dream is to earn the Colombian ITT Champion jersey and bring it to Europe. But it is also a parcours that is 5km from my house. It is where I used to workout, and when I had to train on my TT bike. I am quite relaxed and confident with my materials and equipment. We will see how it will be. The race will be at 2000 meters and the temperature should be about 22 degrees, so everything will be perfect."

The road race on February 8th is 188.8km from Medellin to Mall Llanogrande. There are several categorized climbs, but descends into the finish.

"The road race will start with a straight stretch and finish with a three-lap circuit of the same parcours of the time trial," Uran said. "I will do the best I can there. I know the competitor are strong and the level has grown a lot in the last years. So it won't be easy. But it will be a great experience for me, and also for my Colombian fans who can come follow me and support me live, as opposed to on TV when I race in Europe."
