Eusebio Unzué has "clear ideas" for 2014. Although he has not yet made a decision regarding the programs of his two most important riders, Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde, in particular the leadership roles to be played, the number one at Movistar has already planned his ideal scenario: the Colombian will ride at the Giro, the Spaniard at the Tour de France. Then Unzué wants to send both men to the Vuelta a España, a GT which in recent years has shown that as strong a team as possible is needed to win and that having two designated leaders is not a bad thing.
The expert Spanish leader thus explains that the Corsa Rosa is "a necessary step in the career of a cyclist", which can thus give Quintana an important experience as captain, being able to also ride at the "high level" he was at in the Tour de France last year.
No one knows what will happen with Igor Anton, whose qualities are very clear, however, to Unzué, he is ready to face "a few times as a leader but help the captain and others most of the time."
