The UCI will make a decision about Astana's WorldTour license today or tomorrow. The Kazakh formation has come under fire due to its many doping case and now the team has also been linked to banned doctor Michele Ferrari.
The International Cycling Union will look into the lastest developments.
"The committee that is responsible for the report, have gathered all the relevant information," UCI president Brian Cookson tells Gazzetta dello Sport. "(Italian Olympic Committee) CONI has sent the information and we have gathered all the information that has been published by the Italian press the last few days. We are also collaborating with the authorities."
Cookson also said that the decision about the license will be made today or tomorrow. If the team is denied a spot in the elite division, riders like Vincenzo Nibali and Fabio Aru will rely on wildcards to participate in the biggest races on the calendar.
