Caja Rural delivered a good performance at the GP La Marseillaise with Amets Txurruka as a key protagonist. The Basque rider was present in the final break which was caught just a few metres from the finish. He still managed to finish the race in 10th.
"On the last climb, a group with Rebellin got clear," he said. "We started to pull and when we were about to reach the summit, Gautier attacked and I went after him. We managed to join the break. In the last kilometers the peloton was very close and we were caught 500m from the finish. The truth is that I felt good, the team is looking good and looking forward. The work we have done in the winter was good and now we have to wait and keep working."
