Amets Txurruka finished 2nd in the last stage of the Vuelta Asturias and finished 2nd in the overall standings. It was a great balance for the Basque rider with two second places in stages and with the second place overall behind a very strong Igor Anton (Movistar). Ángel Madrazo was present in the escape of the day.
"Movistar were very strong, especially Igor, who not only defended himself but proved to be the strongest on the final climb," Txurruka said. "We worked well, but when the opponent is stronger you have no choice but to congratulate and wait for the next opportunity. The team is on a roll and these results must give us confidence and strength to continue the work."
