Brazilian Cleberson Weber and Ecuador's Erick Castaño have been suspended for eight years by the International Cycling Union (UCI).
Weber tested positive for EPO on August 29 during the Tour do Rio. It was his second positive test for EPO after the 2009 Tour de Santa Catarina after which he served a suspension for two years.
Meanwhile, Castaño was provisionally suspended for testing positive for human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the 2009 Vuelta al Ecuador and his ban has only been announced now.
In the past, the UCI have suspended Stefan van Dijk, Patrik Sinkewitz, Julian David Muñoz, Libardo Niño and Pawel Szczepaniak for eight years too. In 2015 Lloyd Mondory was suspended for four years .
