Trek Factory Racing have annouced their 9-rider roster for the Giro d'Italia and will go into the race targeting stage wins with Giacomo Nizzolo.
The Italian got close to the elusive victory on numerous occasions in 2014 when he took no less than four second places. This year he finally opens his grand tour account and he will have a full team at his disposal as the American team has not selected any GC riders.
Fast riders Boy van Poppel, Marco Coledan, Eugenio Alafaci and Fabio Silvestre will make sure that Nizzolo has one of the best lead-out trains in the race. Furthermore, he can rely on the firepower of Fumiyuki Beppu and time trial specialist Kristof Vandewalle to chase down breaks.
In the hillier stages, in-form Fabio Felline will hope to win a stage by using his good sprint from a reduced group. Calvin Watson will try to ride aggressively and support Nizzolo in the flat stages.
