After much uncertainty, the Tour Mediteraneen will be held in 2015, according to an announcement from organizer André Martens and the social media of the race. Originally scheduled to be held over five stages, the race will be reduced to three days from Febraury 12-14.
"This new edition has been more difficult to organize than the previous two," says André Martens in the announcement.
The race will start in the Spanish city of Figueres and the final stage will finish in Pegomas, near Cannes. Hence, the traditional queen stage to the top of Mont Faron has been skipped. The second stage will be a time trial.
At the moment, the race does not appear on the UCI calendar. Last year Steve Cummings won the race while wearing BMC colours.
