Tinkoff-Saxo go into the Tour of Britain with an open mindset. While Nikolay Trusov will target the sprints, the team will be looking for opportunities in the GC for Nicolas Roche, Manuele Boaro and Rory Sutherland.

DS, Lars Michaelsen explains what the team wants to achieve in the 8-day race.

“We expect that every stage can be crucial for the overall outcome of the race. The peloton is often struck by fierce wind and rain and quite often the course offers small roads where a moment of lack of concentration can cause a split in the field. Besides, if the right constellation of riders should form a break, the GC might be settled instantly. But as every team is only allowed to bring six riders, the pack will be very hard to control. I expect the penultimate stage, a time trial over 8.8 kilometers will decide the GC."
