Jonathan Tiernan-Locke is currently suspended for a biological passport violation. His two-year anti-doping ban expired with the turn of the year. According to the Torquay Herald Express newspaper, he will be back to racing in February at the Primavera road race in the South of England. The race which will take place on February 28, is 53-miles long and is organised by Tiernan-Locke's former club.
"I know it will feel like turning the clock back, but I plan to do some races in the South-West to start with," Tiernan-Locke explained. "I am looking forward to bumping into people I haven't seen since I last rode at this level six or seven years ago. I want to enjoy racing again, first and foremost, see what sort of form I'm in and then take it from there."
Tiernan-Locke withdrew from the road world championships on September 29, 2013 because of a irregular values in his biological passport data. He was suspended from racing by Team Sky. In July 2014 his suspension was announced by the UCI, banning him until December 31, 2015 and stripping him from his 2012 Tour of Britain and World Championship results.
