"We had our share of bad luck again. Willems fractured his collarbone in the first stage and with the crash of Kenny in the last hectometers today we missed out of a big opportunity again," Heynderickx says

Lotto Belisol got their Driedaagse van De Panne off to a bad start evn before the race had begun when André Greipel fractures his collarbone. The race itself didn't go much better as Frederik Willems crashed on the opening day and also broke his collarbone while Kenny Dehaes went down in the sprint in today's morning half-stage.

It was the last day of the Three Days of De Panne-Koksijde. In the individual time trial Bodnar was the fastest and in the short morning stage Modolo took the victory. It was the second stage win for the Italian of Lampre in this Three Days because yesterday he was also the fastest of the peloton in Koksijde. Guillaume Van Keirsbulck is the overall winner.

For Lotto Belisol especially the young Vegard Breen showed himself. There was again bad luck for the team in this race. Frederik Willems crashed in the first stage and incurred a double collarbone fracture. Also Kenny Dehaes had his share of bad luck. He lost his chance to win the morning stage when he crashed.

"In the beginning we had to see how we would handle it now Greipel had fallen out," sports director Jean-Pierre Heynderickx said. "We had to set up a different strategy. I have to say the guys did it perfectly this morning. Unfortunately Dehaes crashed in the last corner.

"Also the performance of Vegard Breen was positive. Of the riders in the team he's the one who knew the West-Flemish roads the least but he rode in the first group yesterday. At his young age he has already adapted well to the Flemish races. This Three Days was a good lesson and he can only learn from it for the future."

"We had our share of bad luck again. Willems fractured his collarbone in the first stage and with the crash of Kenny in the last hectometers today we missed out of a big opportunity again. I see it as positive that there was a well organized team this morning, so chin up and up to the next races."
