There is no shortage of teams interested in Bryan Coquard’s fast legs whose Europcar contract ends at the end of the year. According to L’Equipe, BMC is in the best position to secure his services but IAM and Ag2r-La Mondiale have also shown interest.

Coquard recently became madison world champion with Morgan Kneisky in Paris and he was silver medalliste in the Omnium at the 2012 Olympics. On the road, he won a stage in the Etoile de Besseges a few weeks ago and now goes into his next races at Le Samyn, Paris-Nice and Volta a Catalunya.

The French sprinter is in his third season in Team Europcar whose manager Jean-René Bernaudeau is looking for a new sponsor for the2016 season. "In my position and with the results of last two years, it is probably easier for me than some of my teammates. Personally, I'm not worried," he told L'Equipe about having to find a new team for 2016. "If my performance can help bring a new sponsor, it will be even better," he added.

Last year he had five wins, two stages in Besseges, one in the Tour de Picardie and the one-day races Route Adelie and Paris-Camembert. In the Tour de France he finished in the top 8 no less than 7 times. "Jean-René has done much for me, but he has to announce something before the Tour. After that, it becomes complicated. I do not was to close the door for anyone. I want to grow in a team environment with riders who can help me in the sprints," he says.

There is no lack of interest. First of all the IAM team of his training partner Jerome Pineau wants to attract his services. “I know he would like me to join him. For now, there is nothing concrete. But I know that going abroad does not scare me, "he says. The Swiss team also has sprinters Matteo Pelucchi and Jonas Vangenechten in its ranks.

According to the French sports daily, however, the possibility of joining BMC Racing Team is better as the American team is looking for a new sprinter after Thor Hushovd’s retirement. Futhermore, Yvon Ledanois who hails from the same Vendee region, is one of the sports directors. Finally, Ag2r-La Mondiale have given him an offer that is very attractive from an economic point of view. The French team wants a major sprinter for the 2016 season.
