An important change in the UCI regulations was recently reported by inrng, who suggested in their article that race radios will be banned in the WorldTour level races from 2015 season. The issue immediately became a hot topic in social media and was critically commented by several top division team managers, but the UCI eventually turned down such rumours.
According to the report published by inrng, the Article 2.2.024 of the UCI regulations implied the elimination of race radios from all events held at the WorldTour level as well Women's World Cup races.
Usually active on Twitter, Etixx-Quick Step and Cannondale-Garmin managers Patrick Lefevere and Jonathan Vaughters quickly criticized the decision, rightly suspecting that this way the UCI would deprive them of the best tool to control the events.
However, according to Spaziociclosmo, the UCI quickly put an end to all speculations, explaining that no change in regards to using race radios will be implemented in the upcoming season.
