BMC Racing Team's Dylan Teuns finished 10th on Thursday's mountain-top finish to move into sixth overall at the Aviva Tour of Britain.
Wouter Poels (Team Sky) chased down Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN-Qhubeka) in the final 100 meters to win the stage while Teuns arrived 18 seconds later. Boasson Hagen moved into the overall lead by one second ahead of Poels. Teuns is 38 seconds behind with three stages remaining.
"I have to thank my teammates," Teuns said. "They did a good job to keep me in a good position in the final. My 10th place is good, but I am a little bit disappointed. I was maybe too nervous in the first two kilometers of the climb. In the sprint, I finished with the same time as the third-placed rider. So maybe I could have done top five as well."
BMC Racing Team's Floris Gerts, who had been sitting third overall, finished 32nd, 1:27 behind. He is now the team's second-best placed rider overall, in 23rd place.
