During the last Tour de Yorkshire, Ben Swift crashed strong. The Team Sky rider injured his shoulder and now he is targeting a return to racing at next month’s Tour of Poland. He knows good this race. Indeed, he won two stages of the 2012 edition.
"I just want to try to put the injury behind me and come out strong. I have trained pretty hard. I crashed when I was already fit, so I haven't had to gain that base fitness. I have just been working at quite high intensity on the turbo and now a couple of weeks of good endurance and strength work on the bike", he explained according to Sky Sports News HQ. "I will start racing again at the Tour of Poland in August and just see how it goes, but I would love to try and pick up a few wins at the end of the season."
Swift has one win to his name this season, which came at the Settimana Coppi e Bartali in Italy in March. "This injury put me out for three months and, in the middle of the season, to take three months out is quite frustrating."
