NetApp-Endura stagiaire Gregor Mühlberger proved his potential when he mixed it up with the pros in yesterday's hard stage of the USA Pro Challenge. In the end, the stage came down to a bunch sprint which left the Austrian empty-handed.

Elia Viviani (Cannondale) won the fourth stage of the US Pro Challenge. The Italian clearly won the mass sprint, way ahead of Martin Kohler (BMC Racing) and Serghei Tvetcov (Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis) on the 113 kilometer circuit race in Colorado Springs. For quite a while, NetApp-Endura Stagiaire Gregor Mühlberger was a part of a twelve man leading pack, which was way out ahead until the last round.

"We had planned to save Michael Schwarzmann for the sprint and to support him throughout the stage. We also wanted to be represented in larger groups. We achieved this successfully with Gregor Mühlberger, one of the youngest riders in the field. Gregor was a part of a twelve man pack for quite a long period, together with Jens Voigt, the oldest racer. Unfortunately, Schwarzi lost his chance for a good result when he had to change bikes 15 kilometers before the finish line", explained Alex Sans Vega, summarizing the events of the day.

"Tomorrow it's back to the mountains. We will be defending Bartosz's position in the overall standing and will be actively involved in the outcome with other riders", explains Sans Vega about the tactic for the fifth stage. In this challenging 168 kilometer stage, the riders will cross the Hoosier Pass, with an elevation of 3517 meters, the highest point in the tour.
