The fourth stage, an individual time trial of 13,9 km in Hoogerheide, was held today in the WorldTour race Eneco Tour. The winner of the stage was Jos van Emden from Lotto NL-Jumbo, who stopped the clock at 16.34.
His teammate Wilko Kelderman took second place, 5 seconds behind. Third place was for Italian Adriano Malori from Movistar, 7 seconds behind the winner.
Katusha’s best rider was Simon Špilak, who finished 34th, 45 seconds behind the winner. The Slovenian had definitely hoped for more and now needs to attack on the climbs to get back into top 10 contention.
Van Emden is the new overall leader, while Špilak is 31st. Tomorrow it is the 5th stage – 179,6 km from Riemst to Sittard-Geleen.
