The first year among the professionals was definitely positive for Jaime Roson. The Spanish rider got a big stage victory in the Tour of Turkey and did well in short stage races. The Caja Rural - Seguros RGA rider draws a positive balance of his season.
"It was a great season for me. The victory in Turkey was important and I also did the Vuelta. I did well and reached the finish. It is something to be happy about. The final outcome of the Vuelta is positive and I hope to return and continue to grow. In my future I believe that the goal will be to do well in stage races or at least become a good climber. But I am still young and I have to grow. We see how it goes,” he told Spaziociclsmo.
Roson has turned the attention to next season
"I will have a schedule similar to that of 2016, participating in races like Challenge Mallorca, Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, Vuelta a Murcia, Clasica de Almeria and Vuelta a Andalucia. Then I'd like to go back to Tirreno-Adriatico, to pick up the pace, and then I will do the Volta a Catalunya to try to be in front. I would love to do well in WorldTour races and I would also like to get some more victories in races like Castilla y Leon, Tour of Turkey, Vuelta a Asturias and Vuelta Madrid.”
"For the future I am calm,” Roson added when asked about a possible move to a WorldTour team. “My agent will deal with that while I just think about riding. I want to do the best for the team and if I have to stay here for many years I would be happy because I feel very well here. I do not know what will happen. Maybe I'll be in a WorldTour team, but I repeat that I feel very good here.”
