Despite a more than credible performance in this year’s Tour de France, Team Sojasun’s General Manager, Stéphane Heulot, continues his quest for a new sponsor. Heulot has set himself an October 1 deadline to land a new sponsorship deal. If he fails to do so, the team might face extinction.
“I’m working night and day to find a new sponsor,” Heulot told Italian cycling website Tuttobiciweb.it. “Our performance in the Tour has increased the interest in the team, but the general economic situation is still very, very delicate and a lot of companies are hesitant to enter the sponsorship market. At the moment I have several interesting negotiations, but nothing tangible. It’s a pity because the Sojasun company experienced a 10 per cent increase in sales during the month of July, and polls show that the company has increased its product recognition by 25 per cent in France.”
