The organizers of the Grand Prix de Denain have unveiled the route of the 59th edition of the event which will see a slight change of the course.
198km will be on the program, one less than last year. The start and finish will still be in Denain but the route has undergone a slight change.
"The northern part of Valenciennes will be avoided (Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, Raismes, Bruay-sur-Scheldt) and the passage through the city of Hordain will be abandoned (following the refusal of the Mayor tocollaborate)," the organizers write in a press release.
The race has traditionally been a big one for the best French sprinters. In 2016, Dan McLay delivered a fantastic sprint to take the biggest win of his career.
