There will be ten riders competing for six places for Slovenia at the World Championships in Ponferrada after this month.
Pending final selection, which will be announced after the Canadian WorldTour one-day races on 12 and 14 September, the selectors have decided to put on high alert the following ten riders:
Borut Bozic and Janez Brajkovic (Astana), Kristjan Fajt and Matej Mugerli (Adria Mobil), Kristijan Koren and Matej Mohorič (Cannondale), Grega Bole (Vini Fantini-Nippo), Jure Kocjan (SmartStop), Luka Mezgec (Giant-Shimano) and Jan Polanc (Lampre-Merida).
There is no news as of yet on who will compete in the individual time trial as of yet.
This means that there will be no Simon Spilak (Katusha), winner of three races this season including stages at the Dauphine and Tour of Romandie, and who is particularly at ease on tough terrain.
