At the age of 26, Slovenian sprinter Blaz Jarc has decided to end his career. With no regrets, he will now turn his attention to agriculture.
It always creates a few headlines when a professional retires at just 26 year of age, especially if he does so to devote himself to agriculture. That's what Blaz Jarc plans to do after the Slovenian NetApp rider ended his career in the Münsterland Giro in early October.
"A few months ago I enjoyed cycling more," he told the newspaper Dvednik. "I do not see this as a defeat. I just found out that I didn't want to be a professional rider. I will dedicate myself to agriculture and I can tell you that I'm happy."
As a professional, Jarc won 11 races, most of them with the jersey of Adria Mobil on his shoulders. His last success came in 2013 when he won the GP Stad Zottegem.
