After securing some big names last offseason, Cycling Weekly has reported that Team Sky will not seek to do the same in 2016, opting to focus on re-signing riders for 2017.
Geraint Thomas has already extended his deal and Owain Doull will join from Team Wiggins, but Cycling Weekly understands that securing new deals with Nico Roche, David Lopez, Andy Fenn, Salvatore Puccio and a few others is top of Sky’s to do list.
One name that may arrive is Diego Rosa, who also has offers from Bora-Argon 18 and his current team Astana. Tao Geoghegan Hart, a stagiarie with the team in 2015, has an offer for 2017 but has yet to sign anything.
Xabi Zandio has already confirmed 2016 is his last as a pro and Czech star Leopold Konig looks likely to leave, seeking to be a leader in another team.
