Following the return of Ramon Sinkeldam at Tirreno-Adriatico, followed by the news that Warren Barguil would start the Volta a Catalunya, it appears Team Giant-Alpecin are finally getting back on their feet, with three of the six riders involved in an awful training camp car crash back on their bikes.
“It’s far from over. I’m back, most riders are not,” Sinkeldam told Het Nieuwsblad.
“It goes well with me. I’m glad I’m back. It’s not that I have a lot of fear – only in the descents, as we go very fast so are you more alert. The shoulder has recovered, but there remain a few nagging minor problems.”
Frederik Ludviggson was the first rider back, at the Ruta del Sol and Chad Haga is back training, with a return at Pais Vasco, Romandie or even as early as Criterium International a possibility.
John Degenkolb hopes to be racing by May, but there is still no news on neo-pro Max Walscheid’s return to racing.
