In the Czech Republic, the national cyclo-cross championships have already been held. For the first time in his career, Radomir Simunek (32) is the best in his country, 18 years after the last title of his father, Radomir Simunek senior.
Radomir Simunek beat Michael Boros and defending champion Adam Ťoupalík in Kolin.
It is the first national title at the elite level for Simunek who has been on the podium six times in the past: silver in 2008, 2009 and 2012 and bronze in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
His father and former world champion Radomir Simunek senior won the title four times: 1994, 1995, 1997 and 1998. Petr Dlask and Zdenek Stybar hold the record with six victories.
