After his great ride in the first mountain stage, Bretagne captain Eduardo Sepulveda lost time in today's stage of the Tour de France.
On the Tourmalet, Anthony Delaplace and Frédéric Brun were the last teammates to stay with the leader who crested the summit less than two minutes behind the Yellow Jersey group. On the descent and in the valley, he was unable to count on much help in a small group with Bardet, Kudus, Anacona and Pantano and lost several minutes.
Nevertheless, he gained two places in the overall standings and is now 24th. Furthermore, he retained his 4th place in the fight for the white jersey.
