Asked to make the balance for his team for the 2016 season, Androni manager Gianni Savio is proud to list the various victories of his rider. The team won 19 races but the Italian manager especially emphasized the wins of Francesco Gavazzi at Memorial Marco Pantani, Francesco Chicchi at Boucles de la Mayenne, Marco Frapporti at the 4 Jours de Dunkerque and Egan Bernal at the Tour of Bihor. But most of all, the boss at Androni-Sidermec was pleased that his team will survive at the top level.
In 2017, Savio begins his twenty-second season at the top level.
"I have saved the success that I consider most important, as my last one,” Savio said, “that of having saved the team despite the problems with Venezuela. We can say that we made a miracle because in spite of a sponsorship agreement in 2014, we only received a deposit two years later. Still, we were able to honor our commitments and safeguard the jobs of more than thirty people."
For 2017 Androni have signed Mattia Cattaneo, Andrea Palini and Andrea Vendrame.
