Samuel Sanchez and Philppe Gilbert will be at the start of the 2016 Vuelta a Murcia where they will lead the BMC team. According to the organizers, the American team have confirmed their participation.
Samuel Sanchez goes into the season with more certainty than he has done the past two years as he already has a contract in place. He will return to the race which he has done several times with the Euskaltel team.
Gilbert will use the race to gear of the classics that will again be the big goal for him. The hilly course in Murcia should suit him well and he will again be up against one of his biggest rivals Alejandro Valverde who has confirmed his intention to do his home race.
The 2015 edition was won by Rein Taaramae who launched an impressive solo attack from far out.
