It is time for the first transfer out of Europe for Bardiani-CSF in 2016. On Saturday, the #GreenTeam traveled Malaysia to attend, from the 24th to the 2nd of March, the eight stages of the Tour de Langkawi.
Six riders will be at the start, led by team director Stefano Zanatta - Nicola Ruffoni (completely recovered after the intestinal problems suffered at La Mediterraneennee), Paolo Simion, Luca Chirico, Giulio Ciccone, Simone Sterbini and Mirco Maestri. Italian climber Chirico was the best rider for Bardiani-CSF in the 2015 edition, placing 7th in general classification and taking two top ten stage results (fourth and sixth).
“As the spring season gets closer and looking to what we did during the first races, Tour de Langkawi is an important step” said Zanatta. “We’re working to continue along the growing path we started and to achieve positive results to confirm we’re on the right way. We assembled a well equipped team for the race, we need to be convinced that every stage is a good opportunity. We have fast riders and climbers, like Ciccone for example, who can be competitive in the queen stage. We have what we need to do well”.
