The Grand Prix Kanton Aargay (UCI Category 1.HC) with its world class peloton was a great success for the Swiss Team Roth: Only a few centimeters behind Giacomo Nizzolo, Andrea Pasqualon crossed the finish line as second.
At first, Pasqualon was not quite satisfied and said: „I really wanted to win the race.“ But at the presentation ceremony he was happy about the great success which motivates the whole Team Roth for the upcoming Tour de Suisse, starting on Saturday with the prologue in Baar.
Roland Thalmann from Lucerne was less fortunate. A few days ago he broke his arm in a crash and he can not be part of the big highlight of the season. There were good new for Lukas Jaun from Lengnau: His knee has passed the stress test and he will be able to start at the Tour de Suisse.
Stefan Blaser, CEO of the main sponsor Roth Gruppe, is looking forward to next week:
"We are proud that the Team Roth may measure its potential with the 18 teams of the World Tour. As IAM will withdraw from the World Tour at the end of this season, this participation gets an even greater importance. The Team Roth is offering the chance to five young Swiss riders to present themselves at the highest level. This is important for Swiss cycling in general.“
But there is still a lot of hard work to be done in the background, says Stefan Blaser.
"To guarantee our participation at the Tour de Suisse next year, we urgently need additional sponsors.“
